Brendan O'Rourke, DDS, MD

Dr. O’Rourke grew up on grew up on Long Island and attended Chaminade High School. He completed his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at the University of Notre Dame. In 2014, he graduated from Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine and received the Divisional Excellence Award in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Upon graduating dental school, he gained acceptance into the six year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program at Northwell Health/Long Island Jewish Medical Center (LIJMC). As part of his training he attended medical school at Stony Brook University, receiving his MD, and completed an internship in general surgery at North Shore University Hospital and LIJMC. In his final year of residency, he served as chief resident at LIJMC/Northwell Health, Stony Brook University Hospital, and the Northport VA Medical Center.

Dr. O’Rourke’s practice practice encompasses all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, wisdom tooth removal, bone grafting, dental implants, pathology, orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint disorders, facial trauma surgery, pediatric oral surgery and intravenous sedation.

Dr. O’Rourke lectured at the General Membership Meeting of the Suffolk County Dental Society this past spring on pathology associated with wisdom teeth. He is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support.

Dr. O’Rourke comes from a large family; he is one of seven children. He is an avid fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He enjoys traveling with his wife, who is originally from South America.
