Benjamin Kur, DDS
Dr. Benjamin Kur is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with more than 15 years of experience. He established Westchester Oral and Maxillofacial Assoc., PLLC in 2009. Dr Kur received his BA at The University of Michigan in 1996. In 2002, Dr. Kur graduated from Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Kur completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein School of Medicine. He completed his Chief Resident year in 2006, and shortly after he joined the Medical/Surgical Staff as an adjunct professor.
Dr. Kur resides on the Board of the American College of Maxillofacial Surgeons and serves in multiple academic appointments to help shape the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Kur is an active participant as a junior examiner and previously served as a Regent. Dr. Kur’s interests lie in the reconstruction of the jaws, as well as participating in Head and Neck Cancer treatment and rehabilitation. Dr. Kur maintains hospital affiliations at LIJ/Northwell and Westchester Medical Center. Aside from office based surgery, Dr. Kur treats maxillofacial trauma, pediatric maxillofacial surgery and corrective jaw surgery. As one of the only surgeons in Westchester County to treat TMJ, Dr. Kur is a leading expert in minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of TMJ and facial pain. As part of the greater community of Westchester, Dr. Kur takes great pride in performing Pro-Bono surgery for women of domestic violence abuse and is an active supporter of United States Veterans and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Dr. Kur is a well sought after lecturer on the advancements in oral surgery. He’s lectured on the planning and placement of Zygomatic Maxillary Implants to treat patients that have significant bone loss. As well Dr. Kur performs TMJ Arthroscopy, cosmetic fillers and botox. He is an active participant in The Craniomaxillary Team at WMC, and part of a team of surgeons that handles Head and Neck, Plastics, and Microvascular Surgery for Oral Cancer patients.
Dr. Kur was chosen to participate in the first pilot program to perform molecular COVID-19 rapid testing in the United States. His research is ongoing, and has made significant strides in combatting the pandemic. He is currently developing a “White Paper” to present to the American Dental Association.
A passionate outdoorsman, Dr. Kur enjoys fly fishing, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and the active focus of yoga. He resides in Westchester County with his family.
